This battery is maintenance-free, as it contains battery gel instead of battery acid. This means the battery can never leak. It is delivered completely ready for use; all you have to do is install it in your scooter and ride!

NOTE: The first letter in the type designation of a battery corresponds to the name of the manufacturer. Y stands for Yuasa, N for Nitro, L for Landport, etc. Since Vespa and Piaggio scooters are factory-equipped with a Yuasa battery, we have included that type number in the product title. But as you can see in the photo, a Nitro battery shows NT4L-SLA. BS in the battery name means ‘Battery Sealed’, so the battery is maintenance-free and therefore sealed. SLA means ‘Sealed Lead Acid’, which amounts to the same thing; sealed and thus maintenance-free.
