To prevent dirt, sand, or worse from getting into the variator and the rest of the crankcase, the air drawn in to cool the variator must be filtered.

This filter is designed for that purpose; replace it at every major service. This keeps everything clean and performing well, while reducing wear.

Soak it in engine oil before installation, carefully squeeze it out so no oil drips after fitting, then install it.
