This thermostat cover/housing is essential for engine cooling. It usually breaks because the bleed nipple is overtightened, causing the cover to crack because it's made of plastic.
We have the original Vespa/Piaggio one, made of plastic, and the SIP version, which is made of aluminum (does not crack) and anodized black with a CNC machine.
Our advice is always to use only original parts, but in this case we prefer the SIP variant.
NB: The SIP version is supplied without a bleed nipple , bleed nipple cap , and O-ring . The original version does include these!
